诗童：科学和文化，它们是一种怎样的关系？个人和国家应该怎样看待它？
Shitong: What is the relationship between science and culture? How should individuals and countries view it?
顾朝曦：在我看来，科学与人文是人们共同生活不可或缺的两个方面的知识，如同一个硬币的两面。科学家追求的是科学知识的普遍性和广泛性，艺术家也一样。科学家是在力图用他们的知识去探求客观自然界当中健康中的规律，并把它们总结成为定律，这种定律运用的越广泛、越深刻，那么这个科学就越有价值；人文也是一样，艺术家用他们的创作灵感，去唤醒人们的意识和潜意识当中的那些情感，这种情感越深刻，这个艺术价值表达的感染力越广泛，时间跨度、地区跨度越大，这个艺术就越优秀，所以我说，科学和人文就如同一个硬币的两个面，是人类共同生活当中不可或缺的（知识的）两个朋友。

诗童：我们如何看待科学文明发展对于人类生活的影响？

顾朝曦：科学本身是中性的，我们用科学知识改造生活的过程中，一定要让它跟文明的其他元素水乳交融，比如你到黄河瀑布去参观，往那儿一站，今天的人们都在说，流量多少？泥沙多少？峰值是多少？都是一些术语，哪里还有李白的将进酒，“黄河之水天上来，奔流入海不复回”这种意境和美感的消失，不能不说是一种悲哀。我觉得是当下人的幸福指数难以提高一个重要的原因，也就在这，我们忽视了这种艺术的美感和它存在的价值，追求数据不是不重要，但是你需要把跟其他元素它水乳交融，才能对我们的生活起到更美好的影响。
